Ingredients
  

1½ cups sweet cream butter (3 sticks)

1½ cups packed light brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

1 large egg + 1 egg yolk

1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 2 Tbsp. of hot water

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup cake or pastry flour

1 tsp. baking powder

1 tsp. cinnamon

1½ tsp. salt

1 cup white chocolate chips

1 cup milk chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions
 

Melt butter and let cool.

    Mix sugars and butter until creamy.

      Add egg, yolk, and vanilla; mix well.

        Combine hot water with baking soda; add to mixture.

          Whisk dry ingredients; gradually add to wet mixture.

            Fold in chocolate chips and nuts.

              Chill dough for 3-24 hours.

                Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

                  Scoop dough onto baking sheets and bake for 10-15 minutes.

                    Cool before serving.

                      Notes

                      Chill the dough for optimal flavor and texture. Reshape cookies after baking if needed for a uniform look.
